Schibsted Match is a form of targeted advertising that allows you, as an advertiser, to deliver tailored messages directly to your customers on our websites. This is done as follows:
As an advertiser, you upload your customer list(s) to Admarket. The list is then sent directly for data processing via an API, meaning no one physically handles the list. This ensures the transfer and processing of the customer list is secure, safe, and GDPR-compliant.
The customer list is sent to Schibsted’s Data Management Platform (DMP), where it is matched against our logged-in users before being deleted.
In return, you as the advertiser receive a segment ID that can be used to target ads across the Schibsted ecosystem.
Privacy
At Schibsted, we take our users’ privacy seriously. Therefore, we place requirements on both you as the advertiser and data controller, as well as on Schibsted as the provider and data processor when using Schibsted Match.
We have prepared a dedicated Data Processing Agreement (DPA), which must be signed by you as an advertiser to ensure the privacy of your customers and our users is protected. Additionally, you must document and guarantee that your legal basis for collecting and processing customer data is transparent and in accordance with applicable privacy regulations.
Schibsted’s technical setup ensures that no one physically handles the customer list, and that it is transferred and processed in a secure, safe, and GDPR-compliant manner.
Schibsted Match is based on logged-in users via Schibsted Account, our own login and identity solution (i.e., not based on cookies). Users have actively visited our platforms, logged in, and accepted Schibsted’s terms of use. This means users can also opt out of receiving targeted ads on our platforms if they wish.
Additional Encryption
When uploading a custom segment, there is an option called “Automatically encrypt email for added security.” This encryption method helps ensure the data remains secure and prevents unauthorized access. Encryption thus adds an extra layer of protection to the matching process – and the uploaded customer list will still be deleted by Schibsted afterward.
In cases where specific errors occur during the matching process, a new (unencrypted) upload of the same customer list may be required to enable troubleshooting.
